Spokesperson for the Bawumia 2028 campaign, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has declared his intention to contest for the National Communications Director position of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming national elections.
In a video shared on social media Sunday, July 12, 2026, Mr. Aboagye stated his decision is borne out of a quest to strengthen the party’s communication structures ahead of future elections.
According to Miracles, he is driven by a desire to help reposition the NPP’s communication strategy and effectively communicate the party’s policies, values and vision to Ghanaians.
The National Communications Director previously appointed has now become elective following the amendment of the party’s constitution in 2025.
Miracles has held several communication and political roles within the NPP, including serving as spokesperson for former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s presidential campaign for the 2024 elections.
He also served as Municipal Chief Executive for Akuapem North under President Akufo-Addo.
The National Communications Director position in the New Patriotic Party is currently held by Richard Ahiagba who Accra News understands does not intend contesting for the position but rather will seek to be a vice chairman.
