2024 New Patriotic Party parliamentary aspirant for Tema West, Robert Richard Suapim has been allegedly assaulted during the internal elections of the party.
The incident reportedly occurred after a brief altercation during the electoral process. Kankam Boadu, is alleged to have slapped Robert Richard Suapim twice after the latter described him as “diabolical.”
The incident temporarily disrupted the electoral proceedings before calm was restored.
According to eyewitnesses, Kankam Boadu had allegedly used provocative language towards Mr. Suapim throughout the process, but Mr. Suapim did not respond until the exchange that led to the confrontation.
The matter has since been reported to the police at Sakumono. Executives of the Tema West constituency have also been petitioned to take decisive action regarding the conduct of Kankam Boadu.
