Kumasi, Ghana — The Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has honoured a distinguished group of leaders and public figures at the World-Meets-in-Ghana Executive Gala held at the Manhyia Palace.
The high-profile ceremony brought together influential personalities from Ghana and beyond, spanning political, traditional, religious, and business sectors. The event celebrated the Asantehene’s enduring contributions to peacebuilding and national development.
Among those recognised were President John Dramani Mahama, former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and former Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia. Also honoured was Ogiame Atuwatse III, alongside several prominent figures in governance and business.
Other awardees included Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, renowned business leader Sir Sam Jonah, Bank of Ghana Governor Johnson Asiama, Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, and Inspector-General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno.
The honourees were celebrated for their significant contributions to peace, economic growth, and institutional development within Ghana and across the African continent.
The gala, organised by the Diaspora Affairs Office at the Office of the President in partnership with E ON 3 Group, formed part of activities marking the 27th anniversary of the Asantehene’s enstoolment. Held under the theme “Advancing Peace and Sustainable Economic Development Through Royal Vision,” the event highlighted the monarch’s legacy in fostering unity and socio-economic progress.
Taking place at Jubilee Hall within the palace grounds, the ceremony drew participation from members of the international community and key stakeholders across multiple sectors.
As Special Guest of Honour, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey joined dignitaries in celebrating the Asantehene’s global influence, widely regarded as a stabilising force in Ghana and beyond.
Over the years, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has earned widespread acclaim for his leadership in conflict resolution and national cohesion. The gala reaffirmed his stature as a symbol of peace while recognising individuals whose work aligns with his vision for a stable and prosperous society.
