The leadership of the Aggrieved Customers of Gold Coast Fund Management has announced a public gathering and peaceful protest to demand the immediate payment of their long-standing locked-up funds.
The group, led by Convener Charles Nyame, says the action will take place on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, as part of efforts to draw government’s attention to the financial difficulties faced by thousands of affected customers.
The protest is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. at the forecourt of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Osu, Accra.
According to a statement issued on Monday, August 31, participants will be transported by buses from the Osu meeting point to the Jubilee House at 11:00 a.m., where the leadership plans to present a formal petition to President John Dramani Mahama.
The group is calling on the government to expedite the payment of their outstanding funds, which have remained locked up for years following the financial sector clean-up.
The organisers have also invited customers of other collapsed financial institutions, civil society organisations, traditional leaders and religious bodies to join the protest in solidarity.
They say the demonstration will be peaceful, orderly and disciplined, stressing that participants will use the arranged buses for the movement to Jubilee House.
The group maintains that the protest is necessary to keep pressure on the government and secure a resolution to the concerns of affected customers.
