Ghanaian musician Black Sherif — born Mohammed Ismail Sherif — has been sued over GH₵229,500 in outstanding rent for a property he occupies in Accra.
The suit, filed by Dr Evelyn Esi Awittor, at the District Court 1 in Adentan Fafraha, alleges that Black Sherif has not paid rent on the rented residence at House No. 4, Recreational Close, NTHC Estate, Adjiriganor, since August 2024.

Because the musician could not be personally reached, the court granted an order for substituted service, allowing legal documents to be posted publicly and at the rented property.

In addition to the arrears, the plaintiff is seeking that the court also direct that the artiste pay the equivalent of $1,700 per month in Ghana cedis until he vacates the premises.
The ruling allows the legal process to continue despite Black Sherif’s absence from court.
