A 22-year-old man named Kweku is in grips of the police in the Central Region for allegedly sodomizing a 7-year-old child, on November 3, 2025.
The incident occurred in broad daylight in the Nananom suburb of Mankessim.
The victim’s father, Francis Takyi, in an interview with Yaw Boagyan disclosed that he received a call while returning from church alerting him to the arrest of the suspect who was caught in the act.
Upon arriving at the scene, Mr. Takyi confirmed that Kweku admitted to the act, and the suspect is now in the custody of the Mankessim Jedu Divisional Police Command pending his arraignment.
The child was taken to Roman Hospital for checks and later referred to Cape Coast for further medical examination.
The incident highlights concerns about child safety and the importance of swift police intervention in protecting minors from abuse.
