An official communication signed by the Secretary to the Presidential Elections Committee, William Yamoah, extended invitations to all five vetted aspirants to participate in the process, which will take place at the NPP Headquarters, Asylum Down, at 11:00 a.m.
“The Chairman of the Committee has directed me to extend an invitation for your participation in a balloting process to determine your positions on the ballot paper for the upcoming January 31st Presidential Primary,” the letter stated.

“We kindly request your confirmation of receipt of this invitation. Should you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact the undersigned,” he noted.
The Presidential Elections Committee, chaired by a senior party stalwart, is overseeing the arrangements leading up to the primary, which will elect the NPP’s flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.
The Committee commended the aspirants for their decorum during the vetting process, describing it as a reflection of the party’s maturity and commitment to democratic governance.
“The party remains committed to a free, fair, and credible process that strengthens unity and prepares us for victory in 2028,” he added.
The January 31 primary is expected to be one of the most competitive in recent years, with leading figures such as Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong among the frontrunners.
