The Electricity Company of Ghana, ECG has successfully tracked and retrieved over 1,000 of containers flagged as missing earlier this year. Minister for Energy and Green Transition John Jinapor had announced the containers which ECG cables at the Tema Port could not be accounted for. The development triggered a national security investigations with the minister later informing parliament the investigative report had been forwarded to the Attorney-General for action.
But addressing members of the Energy Committee of Parliament acting Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Julius Kpekpena, revealed that the company has successfully retrieved over 1,000 containers that went missing earlier this year.
Mr. Kpekpena also disclosed that ECG has cancelled more than 200 contracts as part of its ongoing reforms.
