Ghana’s biggest YouTuber, Berthold Kobby Winkler Ackon, popularly known as Wode Maya, has been offered a diplomatic passport by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa. He is among five creative content creators, artists, musicians, and media personalities who have been honored.
The five honourees include:
Rocky Dawuni, Grammy-nominated reggae musician
Anita Erskine, broadcaster and media personality
Ibrahim Mahama, renowned visual artist
Dentaa Amoateng MBE, entrepreneur and founder of GUBA Enterprise
Berthold Ackon (WodeMaya), YouTuber and travel content creator
The announcement was made by the Foreign Affairs Minister during the media launch of the Ghana Diaspora Summit. According to him, it is the obligation of these honourees to champion Ghana’s image and lead the campaign to attract both Ghanaians in the diaspora and foreigners to visit the country during the summit in December.
This initiative forms part of Ghana’s broader agenda to bridge the gap between the nation and the global community, strengthening cultural, economic, and social ties.
